Ensuring safety with the familiar designs of our fabrics, it is possible with our Phoenix collection. Choosing fire-retardant fabrics is a responsible decision and crucial in some environments. These curtain fabrics offer an extra layer of protection without sacrificing style and comfort.
Style and safety merge.
In some environments such as hospitals, theatres and schools, the use of fire retardant fabrics can contribute to increased safety and handling such materials may even be mandatory. But equally, fire-retardant fabrics are functional in kitchens or offices. Therefore, we cast some familiar designs in a fire-retardant jacket resulting in an accessible collection called Phoenix.
What are fire retardant fabrics?
Textiles that are not properly protected against flames can contribute to serious fire accidents, which is why these fabrics are tested according to specific standards. Textile materials that are treated and resistant to catching flames are not completely non-combustible but do slow down the burning process. Because they char instead of going up in flames, they form a barrier that blocks oxygen and slows down the fire.
Our fabrics are tested and approved by an external institution. A certificate or positive test report from an accredited institution must show that the fabric meets certain requirements.
